3. Sparkassen Metropolmarathon from Fürth to Nuremberg

The Sparkassen Metropolmarathon will take place on June 14, 2026, connecting the cities of Fürth and Nürnberg – "From the Cloverleaf to the Imperial Castle." Since its restructuring in 2024, the event has established itself as the largest sporting event in the region, attracting up to 9,000 participants annually. In 2025, more than 9,000 were registered at temperatures exceeding 30°C, with nearly 6,000 starting in the classic distance (marathon, half marathon, 10 km); an additional 3,000 participated in the Kids' Marathon and other activities such as Nordic Walking or youth runs. The event alternates locations and will lead from Fürth to Nürnberg for the first time in 2026. The course is attractive, featuring numerous refreshment stations, pacers for the marathon and half marathon, as well as professional timing. Participants receive a finisher medal and a personalized certificate; optional finisher shirts, medal engraving, and photo/video packages can be booked. The Sparkassen Metropolmarathon offers a sporting, cultural, and community experience at the highest level.
