40. Munich Marathon by Brooks

The MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks 2026 will take place on October 11, 2026, and offers runners an urban running experience through the most beautiful districts of Munich – from the Olympic Park to Marienplatz, Werksviertel, English Garden, Sendlinger Tor, and finishing at the Olympic Park. The event is characterized by an energetic festival atmosphere with music, spectators, and a colorful supporting program. Following the successful restart in 2025 (with a record number of approximately 28,500 runners), the 2026 marathon builds on this momentum and promises an even more intense and emotional event. Innovations such as a revised lap kilometer route through downtown highlights and innovative competition categories like the Sport Schuster Half Marathon, 10 km Run, Marathon Relay, Kids Run, and the inclusive Friendship Run ensure variety in registration. The marathon is organized by the non-profit Laufstatt Event gGmbH (terms and conditions are available). The registration deadline is September 27, 2026. There is no lottery: registration is done online as long as the quota is not exhausted and is based on the first-come, first-served principle. The course, with only a slightly undulating profile and few elevation meters (approximately 40–50 m), is particularly attractive for record-seeking runners. The marathon is officially recognized as the Bavarian Marathon Championship race and also serves as a qualifying race for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group Championships, provided participants consent.
