27. Marburg Night Marathon

The Marburg Night Marathon takes place on Friday, July 3, 2026, in Marburg and offers a unique running experience on historic pavement with its evening format. The event is organized by the Ultra Sport Club Marburg and features a flat, IAAF-measured loop course through the old town, along the Lahn, and into the university stadium. Established for several years, the race is one of the most popular running events in Central Hesse. In 2025, participant records were set due to ideal weather conditions and an attractive course layout, so high interest is expected for 2026. Registration runs from March 1 to June 28, with the participant field strictly limited – a maximum of 500 marathon runners, 1,600 half-marathon participants, and 250 relay teams – after that, no late registrations are possible (exception: available spots with cash payment). The entry fees are €35 for the marathon, €25 for the half-marathon, and €60 for the relay (or €65 for late registration). The sought-after event starts at 7 PM in the historic marketplace and ends in the university stadium. The marked course combines urban flair with idyllic proximity to the Lahn – ideal for both running enthusiasts and spectators alike.
