24. Jirkovsky Crossmarathon

The Jirkovský Crossmarathon is a scenic trail and road running event in Jirkov, at the foot of the Ore Mountains near the German border. The event features distances of a marathon (42.2 km), half marathon (21.1 km), and a 9 km short course. The race first took place several years ago and has been growing in popularity. The course runs over asphalt, gravel paths, and forest trails, offering diverse natural backdrops with forests, moors, and charming villages – a highlight for runners and nature lovers. The start and finish point is located at about 340 m above sea level, while the highest point reaches around 911 m. The marathon course includes approximately 950 meters of elevation gain. In the last race in 2025, 23 participants reached the finish line over the 42.2 km course – a manageable but dedicated running group, ideal for a family-friendly competition atmosphere and personal best times without mass start stress.
